Downtime to expect while relocate node for ora.MGMTLSNR, ora.mgmtdb, ora.oc4j and ora.cvu

Recommended Posts

Hello,

We will perform eletrical maintenance in one of our server rooms.

So all servers have to be stopped.

We have an Oracle cluster on grid 12.1.0.2 (active/passive) with ASM. We stopped db resource on the node wich will be shutdown and started them on the other node.

The below resources are open on the node that we have to stop:

-ora.MGMTLSNR

-ora.cvu

-ora.mgmtdb

-ora.oc4j

1) Is a downtime of active instances on the other node is to be expected if we shutdown the node wich host theese services?

2) If we use "srvctl relocate resource_name -node node_name" to switchover theese resources (MGMTLSN,cvu,mgmtdb,oc4j) to the other node, is a downtime of active instances on the other node is to be expected too?

Thank you in advance.

Regards,

VME
