Session Parameter in RAC

Recommended Posts

Hello,

Is session parameter database based or session based?

If I set my session parameter to 472 in 2 node RAC environment, what maximum connection can I have in each node?

Thanks

Hi Tim,

the sessions parameter relates to the

maximum  number of processes that can connect to a RAC node.

You never want to set sessions too low, because the instance will freeze, causing processing interruptions.

It is easy to change online:

http://www.dba-oracle.com/t_sessions_parameter.htm

Sessions = processes * 1.5

Here is now to see the number of connected sessions on a RAC node:

http://www.dba-oracle.com/t_rac_sessions_on_each_node.htm

Good luck!
