Hello,

Currently I have a very simple RMAN backup script that does a full back-up of my database, my question is: how can I automate this to run daily at 3 am?

Hi,

You have many choices:

1 - crontab

2 - dbms_scheduler

Please read carefully:

http://www.dba-oracle.com/t_rman_scheduling_backup.htm

http://www.dba-oracle.com/t_rman_shell_script.htm

If you want pre-written RMAN scheduling scripts,  get the code depot from this book:

http://www.rampant-books.com/book_1002_rman_backup_recovery.htm

Hope this helps. . .
